Some repaints are pretty much straight forward and entail just redoing a fresh new coat without any much body repair works.
Enter the Honda Fit in Alabaster Silver. The paint had seen better days and had dulled. It was having small dings and scratches and that was pretty much it. In addition, we also fabricated small pieces of plastic for the towing hole on the rear and front bumpers.
We got down to work straight away and started by repairing the small imperfections as the first step to getting the panels ready for paint. All the repaired surfaces were primed and sanded down. After curing for 24h, the primed surfaces were sanded down, corrections done and then the car was sent back into the spray booth for a round of silver base coat to seal the primer.
This was sanded down once more before getting the car ready for base and clear coats. We do this in two steps by taking off all the door panels and bonnet. The body shell is then done afterwards.
We put down that Alabaster Silver code N700M skillfully for a factory style finish and baking at 60C in all the two separate stages. With painting done, it was time to put the car back together.
Next up was steam detailing for the interior and engine bay as well as corrective buffing to enhance the final looks.
